it had to happen sometime

As my first post, I am proud to say that I will be talking about Britney Spears.  This Friday is her concert, which I will be in attendance.  Needless to say I am pumped.   Yeah, I know how much of a wreck this girl is, but she represents stages of my life.  Crucial developments that allow me to hear one of her songs and reminisce to my youth.

Hit Me Baby One More Time:
This song came out in 1998, so do a little math and I was REALLY young.  I owned an Old Navy track suit and at birthday parties I got to play sporty spice in our music vids.  Also, Britney inspired me to wear a white button up shirt to school with, picture this, my Starter-esque jacket that said FILS and my timberland work boots with tear away athletic pants.  Yes, I did dress myself.

Oops!...I did it again:
Britney could not have made this song/ her following movie Crossroads at a better time.  I was in an experimental phase and loved doing crazy crap with my hair/clothes/makeup.  I convinced some of my classmates I was colorblind which made up for the purposely mismatched clothes I wore.  People believed me because I was "Bethany- the crazy girl."  To make it more awkward this was peak brace face.  If I had a picture of this I would consider putting it up until I remembered how disgusting I looked.  It was my "ug" (ugly) phase, everyone has one...or three.

Cry Me a River:
The break up between Spears and Timberlake might have been one of the best things JT could have done for himself.  He came out with "Cry Me a River" which may have launched his career as solo-artist.  I'm just saying.

Fast Times:
Soooo Brit-brit and madonna made out, she married her crazy backup dancer and produced a few offspring, shaved her head, showed her britney, and here we are post rehab and aweful Matt Lauer interview at the Circus tour.  This Friday will be amazing.  I am wearing something shiny and have been thinking about some eye glitter.  Update to follow.
